ThinkMarkets CFD MT4 Review

For UK traders, ThinkMarkets offers spread betting on MT4. For UK and other traders, ThinkMarkets offers CFD trading on MT4. There are two account types, namely Standard and ThinkZero. The difference is that the ThinkZero has a minimum deposit requirement and can offer low Forex spreads plus a commission charge of $3.5 per lot per side. The Standard account, like the spread betting account, does not charge commissions.

What markets does the CFD MT4 Standard account offer ?

The CFD Standard account offers Forex, Previous Metals (Gold, Silver and Platinum), Metals (Copper), Energies, Indices, Soft Commodities, Shares and Cryptocurrencies, for a total of 150+. This is wider range and a greater total than the spread betting account for UK traders only. Of the different accounts offered at ThinkMarkets, the most markets and widest range are on the MT5 account.

What cryptocurrencies are offered ?

On the MT4 CFD account, ThinkMarkets offers Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple.

Does the trader own the Equities or Cryptocurrencies ?

These markets are offered as CFDs, which allow the trader to speculate on the price movement of assets, without owning them. In the case of Cryptocurrencies, this means that the trader does not need any means of storing them (for example a wallet) and can go long or short.

What kind of Forex trading is available ?

There are 40+ Forex pairs available on these accounts. MT4 has a wide range of tools to analyse markets available, including technical indicators and other charting tools. For those who trade using automated trading strategies, then Expert Advisors (EAs) are available. Thus both discretionary and automated trading is available on MT4 (unlike Trade Interceptor, which has a similar number of markets, but does not support automated trading). For traders who wish to trade into the ECN, then the ThinkZero account is offered with a minimum deposit. Here low spreads, plus a commission charge can be found (for a higher minimum deposit). However for both Standard and ThinkZero accounts, ThinkMarkets has no dealing desk intervention, allowing a wide range of trading styles.

What Softs are available ?

Unlike the spread betting UK account, Agricultural Soft Commodities are offered. These include: Cocoa, Coffee, Corn, Cotton, Soybeans and Wheat.

What is the minimum deposit to trade on MT4 ?

There is no minimum deposit for the Standard Account. The minimum deposit for the ThinkZero account is £/$500.

Is ThinkMarkets regulated ?

ThinkMarkets is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom and is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in Australia and is licensed by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa.
