FXTM and NSFX Comparison

These brokers provide ECN and non-ECN accounts. NSFX offers a fixed spread non-ECN account with a lower minimum deposit requirement and two ECN accounts with higher minimum deposit requirement, including a JForex account. FXTM provides two non-ECN account with variable spreads, a Shares account (these three are standard accounts) and a range of ECN accounts, including MT5 accounts.

FXTM's standard accounts have a lower minimum deposit than its ECN accounts. FXTM's standard Cent account has a very low minimum deposit. FXTM's minimum deposit for ECN trading is lower than NSFX, with the exception of its Pro accounts which have ECN spreads without a commission charge, for a significantly higher minimum deposit.

Both offer MT4 and another platform. FXTM's other platform is MT5, while NSFX's other platform is JForex. MT4 supports both NSFX's ECN accounts and its Classic account. MT4 is available for FXTM's standard instant execution accounts and its ECN accounts. MT5 is availabe for FXMT's ECN accounts and JForex is available only for NSFX's ECN account.

FXTM is regulated by the FCA in the United Kingdom, the CySEC in Cyprus and the FSC in Mauritius and is licensed by the FSCA in South Africa. NSFX is regulated by the MFSA in Malta.

Quick comparison

Both of these brokers offer MT4 for a range of account types, covering fixed spread Forex trading and variable Forex trading in the case NSFX and instant execution and STP/ECN accounts in the case of FXTM. Both have platforms for ECN trading only: MT5 in the case of FXTM and JForex in the case of NSFX.

Minimum deposit and account types

The minimum deposit for FXTM is $5 and for ECN trading is $200. The minimum deposit for NSFX is $300.

  • NSFX offers three account types. These are the MT4 Fixed, MT4 ECN and JForex accounts. The minimum deposit for the MT4 Fixed account is $300, the minimum deposit for the MT4 ECN account is $3,000 and the minimum deposit for the JForex account is $5,000.
  • The NSFX MT4 Fixed account does not charge commissions, the MT4 ECN and JForex accounts do. On its website NSFX provides Trading Central along with analysis, news and an economic calendar and the NSFX academy which includes an FX Video Course, Trading Examples and Guides and a Forex eBook. Hedging is allowed on all three account types as is micro lot trading but only on the MT4 ECN and JForex accounts are EAs enabled and scalping allowed. An Islamic account is available.
  • FXTM provides three Standard accounts. These are the Standard, Cent and Shares accounts. The minimum deposit for the Cent account is $/€/£5 or ₦1,000 and the minimum deposit for the Standard and Shares account is $/€/£100 or ₦20,000. The accounts all use MT4. These are instant execution accounts (they are not no dealing desk). Micro lot trading is available for all account types. Scalping is allowed only on the ECN accounts. FXTM provides a range of tools, including signals, daily market analysis, news and an economic calendar.
  • FXTM offers a number of ECN accounts. There include the FXTM ECN Account, the ECN Zero, the FXTM ECN MT5, the Strategy Account, FXTM Pro and FXTM Pro MT5. The ECN and MT5 accounts charge commissions, the others do not. The minimum deposit for the ECN Zero account is $/€/£200 or ₦20 000, the minimum deposit for the FXTM ECN MT5 account is $/€/£500 or ₦20,000, the minimum deposit for the Strategy Account is $/€/£100 and the minimum deposit for the FXTM Pro accounts is $/€/£25,000 or ₦5,000,000.

Account currencies for NSFX are: GBP, USD and EUR. Account currencies for FXTM are: GBP, USD, EUR and NGN except for the Strategy account which is available in: GBP, USD and EUR.


  • FXTM can offer slightly different numbers of CFD instruments for each ECN account types, which can be between 35+ and 60+. The FXTM ECN account offers 60+. All the accounts provide Forex and Precious Metals, the FXTM ECN account can also offer Energy and Indices.
  • For the non-ECN accounts, FXTM can offer more CFD instruments on the Standard account, with 75+ covering Forex, Precious Metals, Energy and Indices. The Cent account offers less, at 25+, covering Forex and Precious Metals. FXTM also has a non-ECN account which provides 180+ Shares CFDs. The total is 250+ across all accounts.
  • NSFX offers 60+, covering Forex pairs, Indices, Energy, and Precious Metals on the MT4 ECN and JForex accounts. On the MT4 Fixed account it offers Forex Major pairs. FXTM provides 55+ Forex pairs, NSFX provides 50+ Forex pairs.

Spreads and leverage

  • Spreads at FXTM are variable, and for EUR/USD are from 1.3 on the Standard account, 1.5 on the Cent account, 0.1 on the ECN account, 0.5 on the ECN Zero account, 0.2 on the FXTM ECN MT5 account, 0.3 on the Strategy account and 0 on the FXTM Pro account, and from around 4.3 for UK100, 0.25 for Gold and 0.05 For US Oil. The Shares Account has spreads on Share CFDs from 0.1.
  • Spreads at NSFX are fixed for the MT4 Fixed account and are 3 for EUR/USD, 0.60 for Gold (XAU/USD), 3 for UK100 and 0.06 for US Crude Oil.
  • NSFX offers variable ECN spreads for the MT4 ECN and JForex accounts, EUR/USD has an average spread of 0.4 (but can be seen as low as 0.1), Gold has an average spread of 0.09, UK100 has an average spread of 2 and US Crude Oil has an average spread of 0.05.

  • FXTM charges a commission starting at $2 per lot per side ($4 per lot round trip), depending on the equity in the account and the volume traded. There is no commission charged for the ECN Zero, Strategy or Pro accounts or the non-ECN accounts.
  • NSFX's MT4 ECN and JForex accounts charge commissions of $8 per lot round trip.


Both brokers provide MT4. FXTM also provides MT5 on its MT5 ECN account, NSFX additionally provides JForex. Both MT5 and JForex offer Level II pricing. These platforms are available on desktop, tablet and mobile.
