FXTM and UFX Comparison

FXTM offers both ECN and instant execution trading accounts, with variable spreads. UFX provides fixed spread trading, with STP spreads which can be lower with higher account types, requiring a higher minimum deposit. On its VIP account, FXTM offers low spreads without a commission charge, for a relatively high minimum deposit.

UFX also offers crowd trading on the ParagonEx platform as well as MT4, while FXTM offers MT4, MT5 and a web trader based on MT4. These brokers have a similar number of markets to trade. Both FXTM and UFX are regulated by the CySEC in Cyprus. FXTM is also regulated by the FCA in the United Kingdom and the FSC in Mauritius and is licensed by the FSCA in South Africa.

Minimum deposit and account types

The minimum deposit for FXTM is $5. The minimum deposit for UFX is $100.

  • FXTM provides three Standard accounts. These are the Standard, Cent and Shares accounts. The minimum deposit for the Cent account is $/€/£5 or ₦1,000 and the minimum deposit for the Standard and Shares account is $/€/£100 or ₦20,000. These are instant execution accounts (they are not no dealing desk). Micro lot trading is available for all account types. Scalping is allowed only on the ECN accounts. FXTM provides a range of tools, including signals, daily market analysis, news and an economic calendar. The minimum trade size is 0.01 lots for all account types.
  • FXTM offers a number of ECN accounts. There are the FXTM ECN Account, the ECN Zero, the FXTM ECN MT5, the Strategy Account and FXTM Pro. The ECN and MT5 accounts charge commissions, the others do not. The minimum deposit for the ECN Zero account is $/€/£200 or ₦20 000, the minimum deposit for the FXTM ECN MT5 account is $/€/£500 or ₦20,000, the minimum deposit for the Strategy Account is $/€/£100 and the minimum deposit for the FXTM Pro account is $/€/£25,000 or ₦5,000,000. The FXTM Pro account offers faster execution, lower spreads and higher liquidity and charges no commissions. In Islamic version of each account types is available.
  • UFX provides six account types, Micro/Mini, Mini, Standard, Gold, Platinum and Islamic. The minimum initial deposit is $100 for the Micro/Mini account, $500 for the Mini account, $1000 for the Islamic and Standard accounts, $5000 for the Gold account and $10,000 for the Platinum account. The minimum trade size ranges from 0.0025 lots for the Micro/Mini account to 1 lot for the Platinum account.
  • All UFX account types have daily market reviews, a video library, daily recommendations and 24hr live support. All except the Micro/Mini account provide a personal trading coach. Standard, Gold and Platinum accounts also have VIP trading support and exclusive updates. Gold and Platinum additionally provide SMS trading alerts and access to MT4.

Markets

  • FXTM can offer slightly different numbers of markets for each ECN account types, which can be between 35+ and 60+. The FXTM ECN account offers 60+. All the accounts provide Forex and Precious Metals, the FXTM ECN account can also offer Energy and Indices.
  • For the non-ECN accounts, FXTM can offer more markets on the Standard account, with 75+ covering Forex, Precious Metals, Energy and Indices. The Cent account offers less, at 25+, covering Forex and Precious Metals. FXTM also has a non-ECN account which provides 180+ Shares CFDs. The total is 250+ across all accounts.
  • UFX offers 450+ markets covering Currencies, Indices, Commodities, Stocks, ETFs and Cryptocurrencies.

Spreads and leverage

  • Spreads at FXTM are variable, and for EUR/USD are from 1.3 on the Standard account, 1.5 on the Cent account, 0.1 on the ECN account, 0.5 on the ECN Zero account, 0.2 on the FXTM ECN MT5 account, 0.3 on the Strategy account and 0 on the FXTM Pro account, and from around 4.3 for UK100, 0.25 for Gold and 0.05 For US Oil. The Shares Account has spreads on Share CFDs from 0.1.
  • Spreads at UFX are fixed under normal market conditions but vary according to the account type. The lowest spreads are for the Platinum account at 2 for EUR/USD, 0.50 for Gold and 0.05 for US Crude Oil. For the Micro/Mini account spreads are 4 for EUR/USD, 0.75 for Gold and 0.11 for US Crude Oil. For the Standard account spreads are 3 for EUR/USD, 0.65 for Gold and 0.07 for US Crude Oil.

Commissions

  • FXTM charges a commission from $2-$10 per lot per side, depending on the equity in the account and the volume traded. There is no commission charged for the FXTM Zero, Strategy or Pro accounts.

Platform

Both brokers offer MT4 but UFX makes this platform available only for higher account types. FXTM provides MT5 on its FXTM ECN MT5 account. UFX offers the ParagonEx trading platform, while FXTM provides a web trader based on MT4. UFX offers a news feed which aims to capture market event and the actions and reactions of traders to them, called MassInsights.
